Grad Night!

PTSA will be selling Grad Night Party tickets during lunch each day in the Commons starting Monday, May, 15th.  Ticket are $20.00.  

There will be food, prizes, unlimited bowling, laser tag, and more!   

The Grad Night Party is the place to be for graduating seniors on June 1st.

PSTA Budget

The PTSA Proposed Budget for 2016-2017 has been posted in the front office. The Budget will be finalized next month at a general meeting.

Reflections Due October 25th

The Reflections deadline has been extended! Reflections entries are now due October 25th. That give you one month to tell your story with a masterpiece. http://www.utahpta.org/reflections

Do you like to dance, produce a film, write a poem or story, compose a song, take a picture or create a piece of visual art? This year's PTA Reflections theme is "What Is Your Story?"  Tell us your story. Pick up a PTA Reflections Entry form from the Attendance Office and get creative!  Entries are due Monday, October 10th. 

No Fuss Fundraiser

Dear Parents,

The Herriman High PTSA has decided to do a “No Fuss Fundraiser” in lieu of selling cookie dough, wrapping paper or any other goods.

EVERY student at HHS participates in PTSA sponsored activities. Student Picture Day, Red Ribbon Week activities, Reflections, Battle Of The Bands, Student Of The Month, Teacher Appreciation Week, PTA Student Day At The Capital and Grad Night. Not to mention that PTSA provides a Welcome Back Luncheon and a conference dinner for our teachers.  Our current budget allows for us to spend $3.00 per student each year funding these events.

We are asking for your support with a $10.00 per student donation. IF each student contributes $10.00, this will raise our budget to $13.00 per student. The PTSA would in turn be able to provide better activities and experience for your students. The PTSA would also like to add support to the CURE (anti-bully program) and the student improvement committee (honor role recognition).

Herriman High School PTSA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization. Your generous monetary donation is tax deductible. Please send the included form, with your donation, payable to Herriman High School PTSA, to the address shown below. Council Reflections Awards Night

Herriman High received three awards.  Two for dance and one for photo!  Congratulations!

Battle of the Bands

Battle Of The Bands is coming to Herriman High January 23rd! 

Entry packets are in the library. 

This is not an event just for bands! Any musical act with two or more people can enter. Here are some ideas: Piano and violin duet, A'cappella groups, and of course bands! You will need to have one original piece and one piece of your choice. If you have questions please contact us here.

Common Core Survey

 Please take the time to fill go to Governor Herbert's website and fill out the questions on the Utah Core Standards.  If you are pleased with the standards and support them, they want to know this.  If you have concerns about them, they ask that you be specific about which standards you don't agree with.  Is it too rigorous?  Is it too easy?  Please be specific.  Please do this as soon as possible if you have not already done so.  Thanks for your time and service.  The link is: http://utah.gov/governor/standards/.

Join PTSA!!

Did you know that you can join PTSA through your registration? You can also still add it if you have already paid. Jump on Skyward, click fee management. Click on make a payment. Under the add charges link you will find PTSA membership, it is $6.00. We hope you join us. Membership helps us to run programs like Grad night, reflections, battle of the bands, teacher appreciation and red ribbon.

Grad Party - Thursday June 5th 11pm - 4am the morning of the 6th

Grad Night Party is at Airborne from 11pm-4am the night of graduation.  Tickets will be sold at the barbecue on Wednesday after graduation practice for $20.00  You are welcome to come the night of the event where the price at the door will be $25.00.  There is a waiver that needs to be filled out by every student.

 The following information will need to be filled out and brought with you when you buy your ticket.  Airborne also has their own waiver on their website (their's is good for a year so if you have one in the system you do not need to do another one).  

Iceberg will be there from 11-1pm grilling hamburgers

Menchies will be coming at 1pm with frozen yogurt

Donuts will be available at 3am

All food and airborne time is included in the price.  Come for a fun night with your fellow graduates.

Grad Night is Tomorrow!

Seniors!  Tomorrow is the Grad Party at Airborne!!!  Tickets will be sold one final time at the barbeque for $20 tomorrow.  Wehave 95 spots left.  The price is $25 at the door.  Remember if we do not have your permission form you will not be let in.

Graduation is in one week!!!!

Seniors!!!   It is almost here!  Graduation is one week from today, we are so proud of all of you!!!!  Graduation night party is going to be at Airborne from 11pm to 4am Tuesday, June 4th.  Tickets will be on sale Wed., the 29th and Thurs., the 30th during lunch only for $20.  We will also be at the barbecue on the day of graduation.  You can pay at the door, the price there will be $25.  Remember you will need to do the online waiver for Airborne on their website, we also have a permission form for PTSA that you will need to sign.  All those not yet 18 will need a parent signature.  You will not be allowed in unless we have received a form from you.  We will have lots of prizes to give away, food and breakfast will be served at 3am.  Hope to see you there!!!

Jordan School District Safety Letter

The following is information that was released by the Jordan School District:

Dear Parents,
We regard the safety of your children as our top priority in Jordan School District. The
horrific events in Connecticut on December 14 have put a spotlight on the devotion,
commitment and love that teachers and educators have for the precious children in their
care. In a crisis, these brave educators put the safety of the children above their own.
Likewise, it has brought into sharper focus school building security. Our schools are held
to a higher standard for safety and security and therefore need to be safe places for
children to learn. Because of this, Jordan School District trains its entire staff and works
closely with each municipality and each law enforcement agency so the safety of your
children will always be our first priority.
Jordan School District has consistently reinforced the safety of our students, staff and
patrons. All of our schools benefit from special equipment and procedures, specifically
designed to maximize safety and minimize the impacts of accidents, natural disasters and
unwelcome intruders. We understand that no public place is immune from accident or
harmful intrusion. However, we have observed the benefits of correct emergency
preparedness and routine practice of safe school procedures.
All District schools are equipped with card access technology, security cameras and
lockdown and incident command systems, along with many other precautions and
procedures. All employees are required to wear District ID badges and are trained to
intervene with any visitor not wearing proper identification. In addition, students and
staff participate with first responders in monthly drills to prepare for a variety of
emergencies. In the case of a school emergency, our local police and fire professionals
are prepared to respond.
In light of recent events, we will further review procedures currently in place and
consider any changes that can augment student safety. If your child is having difficulty
coping with the recent tragic events, counselors are available at every school.
Please know that Jordan School District and the caring, compassionate educators in our
schools work hard to ensure a safe learning environment for every child, every day.
